Paul Mew BSc MSc CMILT MCIHT, the principal of the consultancy, is a traffic engineer and transport planner with over 40 years of experience having worked extensively with local authorities in the UK and overseas. Paul has expertise in traffic impact related site development, urban traffic management, junction design, road safety engineering and design. He is a Law Society registered expert witness having appeared at numerous public inquiries on behalf of the Department of Transport, local authorities and developers.

John Ross BSc MSc, a senior associate within the team, is a traffic and transport planner with 20 years experience having worked in both the private and public sector. John is responsible for the management of a wide range of projects across the disciplines offered by Paul Mew Associates ranging from traffic impact assessments to travel plans and service management plans. In addition John has considerable experience in the design and operation of controlled parking schemes, travel plans, taxi licensing studies and large scale data collection studies.

Alex Osborn BSc(Hons) MIHE MCIHT is a Senior Consultant within the team. Alex has considerable experience in the preparation of Transport Assessments, typically including: design and execution of data collection, PTAL assessment, junction capacity modelling, parking stress assessment, site access and site layout audit and swept path assessment. He has also prepared Travel Plans and Service Management Plans.

Nick Ferguson BA(Hons) is a Senior Consultant within the Paul Mew Associates team and has 5 years experience working on a wide range of projects from the inception stages right through to planning approval.  Nick can offer a range of planning assistance and traffic impact assessment disciplines.  He has considerable experience in the design and execution of highways data collection surveys and analysis as well as specialist traffic and junction analysis and site layout design considerations.

Edna Smuts BCom is a transport planner working on traffic impact schemes relating to the complete range of land use developments. Edna has extensive experience in modelling signalised junctions and is currently working on a range of mixed use development schemes. In addition Edna is head of accounts and finance and is currently completing her Chartered Accountant boards’ exams.
